Welcome to Port Augusta Re-Imagines!
This year, Port Augusta will host the biggest arts initiative ever seen in regional South Australia a year long program of performances, exhibitions, documentaries, workshops, masterclasses, festivals and forums under the banner Port Augusta Re-Imagines!, with thanks to Country Arts SA, the City of Port Augusta and Flinders Power, presenting partner of Port Augusta Re-Imagines!
With over 15 major events, more than 50 performers, and over 40 exhibitions, there promises to be something for everyone to enjoy.
Along with the great memories of this event, there will be a lasting physical legacy of the new Port Augusta Cultural Centre - Yarta Purtli, incorporating the Cultural Centre Gallery, The Barracks and The Institute.
The Regional Centre of Culture Initiative aims to support local communities and develop their creative, artistic and cultural opportunities. The next Regional Centre of Culture will be in 2010 with the next recipient of the regional Centre of Culture being announced soon.
